Welcome! I’m Melissa, a therapist dedicated to helping individuals find their path to emotional well-being through a variety of approaches that are personalized for each individual.

With over 10 years of experience in the field, I’ve had the privilege of assisting numerous individuals in overcoming challenges and achieving personal growth. I have a specialty certification in Perinatal Mental Health, which was a professional interest of mine even before my personal journey to parenthood. My approach is rooted in empathy, understanding, and evidence-based practices.

As a therapist, I specialize in using Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) to guide individuals towards positive change. Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) is a powerful tool for navigating changes in your life. I also incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills that are helpful in managing emotions, improving relationships, and gaining a sense of control over your life. Through these techniques, we’ll work together to identify unhelpful thought patterns and develop practical strategies to overcome obstacles and build resilience.

Beyond skills and strategies, I believe the foundation of therapy is creating a warm, welcoming space where you can feel understood and supported. I understand how daunting it can be to reach out for professional help. That’s why I’m here to walk alongside you, supporting you as you navigate your journey towards healing. I respect your pace, allowing you to open up at your own comfort level. Together, we’ll explore the parts of your story that you’re ready to share, until you feel empowered to delve deeper.

When I’m not working, I’m trying to keep up with my two kids, husband, and our labradoodle, Fozzie. When the weather is nice I’m usually outside- searching for a new restaurant patio, hiking local trails, or on a lake with my stand-up paddle board. I love fall weather, stories in any medium, watercolor painting, and decorating things. I find that watercolor painting is good practice for letting go of control and embracing imperfection.
